The Bathurst 1000 will remain as part of the V8 Supercar Championship until at least 2034, thanks to a new deal that has been agreed. The race's previous contract had been due to expire at the end of 2014, but an agreement has now been reached between V8 Supercars and Bathurst Regional Council to retain the race for another 20 years. "This is an outstanding result for the Bathurst region and reaffirms Mount Panorama's status as Australia's premier motor racing venue," said Bathurst mayor Paul Toole.
